My name is Katerina Biancardi, and I am 2018 graduate of University of Texas at Austin in Sports Broadcasting. Hook’em Horns!

Growing up with two college coaches as parents, I experienced the ineffable moments unique to sports. Those moments impacted me so greatly, I choose a career as a sports broadcaster.
But even my own unique story as a former athlete reinforced my passion for sports storytelling. During a high school varsity soccer match, I suffered from an career ending traumatic brain injury. While I had to stop playing soccer, I reflect now how TBI taught me so many lessons: from learning patience to celebrating the gift of life on the regular. Furthermore, my injury allows me to carry empathy to my job as a sports broadcaster.
During my time at Texas, I have the privilege to be taught by some of the greatest professors, but the best lessons were taught outside the classroom. I had the opportunity to cover UT sports, produce full shows, be a part of the school tv station, and more. I am thankful for the relationships I made, and the education I received. My experiences at Texas has prepared for whatever job in this industry God has planned.
I believe in the impact sports and storytelling combined has on this world. From the comeback stories like mine, to the historic games that break the records books, I believe sports matter, and I hope to make a difference wherever I go.
